Every year, thousands of new folks are introduced to the wonderful world of homebrewing through the magic of a shiny new Mr.Beer Kit. If you count yourself among those lucky suckers, you've come to the right place. You've just arrived at Mr.Beer's totally free (in both the financial and spiritual sense of the word) Community site -- a place where you can belly up to the bar (in a virtual sense, of course), chat with like-minded individuals and get the straight-dope on this new hobby/obsession that you unwrapped like a hungry schoolkid.

So what's this "Community" all about? In the Community Forum you'll find a whole mess of guys and gals who have been there before. Wondering what your first batch should be doing? Look through the forum, 'cause somebody probably already asked this week, and received a ton of good answers. Having a specific problem maintaining temperatures? We've all been through that, and you'll get more tips, tricks and feedback than you'll know what to do with. Want to share pics of your first, glorious homebrew creation? This is one of the few places you can go where everyone will truly understand and appreciate your sense of accomplishment. Likewise, if you're an experienced brewer that has just discovered the Mr.Beer kit, you'll find lots of folks of a similar persuasion, with all-grain recipes and hop boiling techniques at the ready. Bottom line: no matter what your skill level, you'll find helpful folks that want you to have fun making -- not to mention consuming -- awesome beer.

When you've got some time to kill, mosey your mouse on over to the "What's Hoppening" link on the left, and check out our Brew Blog and Brew News sections of the site, where you'll find a host of articles relating -- usually directly, but oftentimes quite broadly -- to this wonderful hobby of ours. With articles on everything from Brewing tips and Style descriptions to Recipes and random bits of beer news, we're about 98% sure that you'll be able to find something useful, informative or interesting (with any luck -- all three at once!) to entertain you for a while. Kick back, sip a homebrew, and prepare to like totally expand your mind, man.

If you're just looking for quick answers to some simple questions, you might consider checking out the Knowledge Center. We've got pat answers to common questions regarding Wine, Beer, and Cider brewing all compiled in one easy place, so you can get the answer you need fast and get on with the business at hand.

At the end of the day, this Community Site is one more tool that Mr.Beer® offers you to help make your homebrew experience the best it can be. Sit back and browse around, using the menu on the left. You'll be glad you did. Cheers, Happy Brewing, and welcome home New Brewers!

cloudy beer before bottling
written by C Ne, February 21, 2010
I am about to bottle the beer I brewed to carbonate it. I poured a small amount into a glass and its cloudy. It tastes like flat beer. Is the cloudiness normal? I originally brewed this exactly 4 weeks ago. I appreciate any help!!

Hi C Ne-
As long as the temp has been within the proper range and it doesn't taste sweet, you're probably ok to bottle.

For future reference, you might get a quicker response to questions like these in the community forum. Cheers, & happy brewing!

I am a convert
written by Pam Bongfeldt, March 04, 2010
I am the "wife" who bought the cool gift for my hubby and brothers for Christmas a few months ago. I have also been a non-beer drinker until recently, because of MR. BEER!!! I can only say that good marketing and GREAT product is what makes Mr. Beer so successful. I have a somewhat humorous but very factual blog about my beer drinking/brewing and MR. BEER experience that documents my experience from beginning to middle (the end is yet to come). Go to http://www.brewnewbie.blogspot.com and check out the anecdotal ramblings of a naive previously-non-drinking-beer girl. If it was up to me...Mr. Beer would be President!!! LONG LIVE MR. BEER!!!
